About

Alexis Zachhuber is a visual artist working primarily with textiles and fiber materials. Her current series uses found and unfinished needlepoint distorted with bulbous growths and abstract mounds of yarn and thread. Her work is a play between precise stitches and urgent maniacal tangles. Alexis’ work is influenced by the womanly plight of silent perfection and craft within domestic spaces while simultaneously unveiling of what lies underneath the ideal of tradition. Her work has been exhibited in Arizona and San Francisco, CA. Alexis received her BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2017 and currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
